Wow. It’s been awhile. We’ve been married over three weeks already! And things have been SOOOO busy. We’re saying so long to Seattle on Sunday and hello Washington D.C.

The wedding was absolutely amazing. I’m going to blog about it for the next few weeks so stay tuned.

We are honeymooning in Cozumel right now. that means no blogging. Check back on the 26th of July for lots of wedding updates, photos, breakdowns, and more!

Anyone who knows me knows that I pack at the last minute. I always pack at the last minute. In fact, I can’t think of a trip where I haven’t packed at the last minute. Inevitably, it leads to me running around, flying out the door with an earring and a shoe in one hand, and a cell phone and charger in the other, and I ALWAYS leave something. But packing for this trip is a breeze. Seriously, check out my packing list.

Yup, that’s it! That’s it for an entire week! I think we should honeymoon more often.

G and I got married on July 11th at 6:00 p.m. at my grandmother’s house. It was absolutely perfect! Plenty more details to come. Here’s a sneak peek at our perfect day.

Our welcome bags were a reflection of G. We put a lot of thought into what was going to go in them. We wanted everything to be practical yet cute and set the tone for the weekend. After a lot of thought we decided on G’s favorite treats – trail mix, gummy bears (something he always ate at his grandmother’s house), and peanut m&m’s ( another childhood favorite from Grandma’s). We also put water, maps, and a welcome packet with important information in the bags. They turned out super cute!

After holiday sales are the way to go for anyone looking for a deal. After Christmas I stumbled across these pretty hurricanes on clearence. That were half off!! I scoured metro Detroit looking for enough.

This weekend we shined them up and now look at them! So purdy.

I love fireworks! They just make me so happy! And since I was a little girl, I’ve wanted them at my wedding. They just look so pretty- you can’t help but to ooh and ahhhh.

Now my wedding is here! (yay!) And those big fancy fireworks aren’t in the budget. But you know what is? Sparklers! Doesn’t everyone have fond memories of running around the yard with them around the fourth of July? They shine and twinkle in your hand! Does it get any better?! Well for me it does! Why? Because I have 200 spaklers ready to be lit to celebrate me & G! Check them out!

With one major exception, G & I have stuck to a tight budget. We’ve DIY’d an entire wedding practically and tried to cut costs in lots of places. However, there was one thing on the [LONG] list of things we had to fork over cash on that I refused to be frugal on. Photography. At the end of the day (a beautiful day, but a day none the less) all G & I will have is each other and our photographs. So I wanted our photographs to be AMAZING.

I stumbled across these photos as I was searching for photographs of the inside of my original dream wedding location.

These photos helped me sell G on our original location and the photographer. The photographer was Jessica Johnston and her work was stunning. I was immediately on the internet trying to learn as much about this photographer as possible. I couldn’t find anyone in metro detroit that was better.

In the end our location changed (to my grandmother’s house in South Carolina! SO excited about getting married there). Fortunately, we were able to bring our photographers with us! I can’t wait to post the pictures. I know they’ll be amazing.

Like every other bride out there who faithfully, reads blogs, I come across contests all the time. And I enter them. After all, who doesn’t like to win things? Well, I finally over won a contest! I won a MissNowMrs.com giveaway on the budget savvy bride’s blog! What is this, you ask? Well, it’s a sweet little deal to make changing my name a piece of cake! Not, bad, huh?

Gummy bears are one if G’s favorite candies so we thought it would be a nice touch to put those in our welcome bags for our out of town guests. In fact, all of the welcome bag goodies are G’s favorite things. This week I’m putting all the treat bags together nut here is a sneak peek at what’s inside.
